The Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively new and less crowded trekking route in the Annapurna region, offering spectacular close-up views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Mardi Himal peaks. The trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, remote villages, and high alpine landscapes, ending at the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m).

🗓️ Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary (6 Days)

Day 1: Pokhara to Kande (1,560 m), Trek to Deurali (2,450 m)

  • Drive from Pokhara to Kande (approx. 1 hr)
  • Begin trek through forest trails and farmland
  • Overnight stay in Deurali

Day 2: Deurali to Forest Camp (2,900 m)

  • Trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests
  • Scenic views of the Annapurna range
  • Overnight in Forest Camp

Day 3: Forest Camp to High Camp (3,580 m)

  • Steeper ascent with alpine scenery
  • Views of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, and Annapurna South
  • Overnight at High Camp

Day 4: High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m), Return to High Camp

  • Early morning trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp for spectacular mountain views
  • Return to High Camp for overnight stay

Day 5: High Camp to Sidding (1,850 m)

  • Descend through forests and farmland
  • Overnight stay in Sidding village

Day 6: Sidding to Pokhara

  • Trek to Lumre or Phedi
  • Drive back to Pokhara
  • Trek ends

📝 Notes:

  • Trekking permits required: Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card
  • Moderate difficulty with some steep sections; suitable for fit beginners and intermediate trekkers
  • Best seasons: Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November)
  • Accommodation in tea houses along the route
